Rosa champions science with the
STEM Engagement Project
Rosa, together with colleagues Peter Summers and Elizabeth Weretilnyk, is inspiring the next generation of scientists and supporting high school science teachers with the Department of Biology's STEM Engagement Project. The long-running STEM Engagement Project by the Department of Biology connects McMaster with hundreds of high school students and teachers each year and includes immersive in-person and virtual science workshops and an equipment loaner program. A STEM education certificate for teachers is also in development.
As scientists, we have the ability through our discoveries to make impacts on communities and environments as a whole. This is impossible to do without solid scientific communication strategies and instructions that we must provide to the next generation of trainees. These are the individuals who can be the innovators of the future!
