Jennifer champions science at the
W.J. McCallion Planetarium
Jennifer introduces the far reaches of the galaxy to our next generation of scientists. Jennifer is part of the team of planetarium presenters who deliver custom tours to community members of all ages. McMaster’s planetarium was the first in Ontario to offer public shows in 1950. A portable planetarium was added in 2022 by McMaster's Faculty of Science to bring the stars and planets to community members who face barriers to travelling to campus.
Science can feel daunting sometimes but hearing about it from scientists who are enthusiastic about their work can help people feel engaged, giving them a satisfying new level of understanding. I do science communication because I love to help people understand complex ideas, especially through the use of visuals.
