Elli champions science with the
McMaster's Geotrails Project
Elli, together with colleague Alex Peace, leads a team of undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are working on a geotrails project. The team is building virtual field trips featuring trails and attractions throughout Ontario. The online and interactive tours highlight local geology, ecology and fluvial (river) highlights along the trails and make scientific information easily accessible for the general public.
Many of the world’s current environmental challenges - from climate change and habitat loss to resource scarcity - will require the collective effort of everyone to solve. That's why communicating science and engaging the public in the process of science is now more important and urgent than ever before.
