Jennifer champions science with
Soapbox Science McMaster
Jennifer is the co-chair of the McMaster chapter of Soapbox Science Canada. Soapbox Science is a novel public outreach platform for promoting women and non-binary scientists and their research. Soapbox Science events transform public spaces into an arena for public learning and scientific debate, following the format of London Hyde Park's Speaker's Corner. Jennifer also serves on the Women in Science and Engineering initiative at McMaster, coordinating workshops, talks and conferences.
Science outreach inspires children and youth to be the science leaders of the future! Being involved in the Hamilton chapter of Soapbox Science, an international organization dedicated to promoting women and non-binary scientists, I love seeing those "aha" moments children have when they realize that they could become a scientist too, just like I did when I was a kid!
