Program Recruitment Fair Expands To Three Days
The Faculty of Science’s annual honours-level recruitment fair goes virtual next month with two bonus days for students.
The “What to Do in Level 2?” Program Fair will be held online March 2-4 for nearly 2,000 Level I students. The annual event gives students the opportunity to learn more about their Level 2 program options before they begin applying in April.
“It’s a big decision for students and we’re here to help them make an informed choice,” says Sarah Robinson, Assistant Dean, Academic. “The program fair is a key highlight of our recruitment cycle in the Faculty of Science.”
Students will connect online with faculty members, staff and student representatives from all of the Faculty of Science’s Departments and Schools.
A team in the Office of the Associate Dean Academic began working on the virtual event in December. The fair will be hosted on the same software platform used by students for virtual academic advising.
Compared to previous years, Sarah says Level I students have been even more engaged in learning about their program options. “We’ve been connecting online with many more students since the start of the fall term. We’re expecting a big turnout for the fair so we’re grateful to all the faculty members, staff and students who’ll be on hand to answer questions and help students choose their programs.”
The 2020 fair was the last in-person event held on campus by the Faculty of Science before the pandemic turned McMaster into a virtual campus.
