New HR Support for Departments and Schools

Banushaa Theiventhiran and Michael Daku have joined the Faculty of Science as Human Resources Coordinators.
In their newly created roles, Banushaa and Mike will offer Departments and Schools a full range of HR-related support while helping to build a centralized HR hub within the Faculty of Science. The hub is a new collaboration with McMaster’s HR Services Team and will be the first of its kind at the University.
Prior to joining McMaster, Banushaa managed Human Resources at Toronto Montessori School. Banushaa is obtaining her Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation and has completed her Honours Bachelor of HR Management at York University.
“McMaster’s integration of diversity and inclusion within its core strategy along with the mission of inspiring lifelong learning aligns with my personal values,” says Banushaa. “Serving as the HR Coordinator is as a great opportunity to make a difference in the Faculty of Science.”
Mike joins McMaster from George Brown College where he served as Co-Op Education Officer. Mike has obtained his Certified Human Resources Professional designation and is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Nipissing University with an Advanced Diploma specializing in HR Management from Sheridan College.
“I’m excited to work at McMaster because I value the service the University provides in preparing students for their careers,” says Mike. “As someone who values education, I wanted to be a part of an organization that supports learning and the community. I felt McMaster would also provide the perfect environment for my own professional growth and development as well.”
