New Resources to Help Faculty with Virtual Classrooms
Reducing the workload for faculty and students, rethinking student assessments and improving course navigation and organization are among the topics covered in the MacPherson Institute’s new Teaching Tips of the Week. The weekly tips offer practical solutions to common challenges identified by students and instructors.
The MacPherson Institute, together with McMaster’s Virtual Learning Task Force, has also published Teaching Recommendations for Winter 2021. The report summarizes results from the 2020 Fall Experience Survey and other feedback received by the Virtual Learning Task Force. Short-term pedagogical ideas are grouped into six themes: reduce the load; course organization; fostering connections; student access to learning; community-engaged and experiential learning; and the future of teaching and learning.
