Stuart Phillips named Distinguished University Professor
Congratulations to McMaster University’s Stuart Phillips for being named a Distinguished University Professor.
The title is awarded to faculty members whose research has international impact and who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and service.
Stuart is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, a member of the School of Medicine and Director of the Physical Activity Centre of Excellence.
Stuart is the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Skeletal Muscle Health. His research focuses on the interaction of exercise / physical activity and nutrition in skeletal muscle and body composition.
Stuart is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. He is also recognized by Clarivate as a highly cited researcher.
Stuart has delivered more than 350 public presentations, including more than 60 keynote talks, to academic institutions on five continents.
Stuart will be formally recognized during McMaster’s Fall Convocation ceremonies.
