Lifetime achievement award for Jim Quinn
Congratulations to McMaster University‘s James Quinn on receiving the Doris Heustis Speirs Award from the Society of Canadian Orinthologists.
The national award is the Society’s most prestigious honour, presented annually to an individual who has made outstanding lifetime contributions in Canadian ornithology – a branch of zoology dealing with the study of birds.
Past recipients have included professionals working at museums, government agencies, private companies and universities as well as amateur ornithologists and people who have contributed to ornithological infrastructure of Canada.
The Society of Canadian Orinthologists is focused on research, community, conservation, communication, excellence in pure and applied research and the responsibility to speak on public issues.
