Karen Kidd among six McMaster researchers to receive more than $2 million
The funding will support Karen’s work to assess the food web fate and effects of aquatic contaminants. The federal government invested more than $61 million in 261 projects at 40 Canadian universities. Karen is a professor in the Department of Biology and the School of Geography & Earth Sciences and an associate member with the Department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour.
An internationally recognized ecotoxicologist and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Chair in Environment and Health at McMaster, Karen was also appointed to the Great Lakes Science Advisory Board with Gail Krantzberg from the Faculty of Engineering.
The board provides advice to the International Joint Commission on scientific matters and research related to the Great Lakes.
The commission also appointed Tom Edge, a research associate in Biology, to the Health Professionals Advisory Board.
