Distinguished University Professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair Stuart Phillips has been recognized as one of the world’s most cited researchers by Clarivate Analytics.
Stuart has been recognized as a highly cited researcher every year since 2018 in the categories of sports science, physiology, nutrition & dietetics, neuroscience & neurology and endocrinology & metabolism.
Stuart is among 16 McMaster University researchers to be recognized on Clarivate Analytics’ 2023 list. There were 218 highly cited researcher designations in Canada and 7,125 designations worldwide.
The annual list recognizes the most influential researchers at universities, research institutes and commercial organizations around the world who have made a significant impact in their fields of research. This impact is determined by the number of highly cited papers they have published, which are defined as publications that rank in the top one per cent of citations in the researcher’s field over the past decade, according to Web of Science. These papers are then placed alongside a qualitative analysis and expert judgement to determine their standing. Overall, highly cited researchers account for 1 in every 1,000 researchers globally.
