Hamilton-based McMaster start-up secures $140M (CAD) to commercialize potential cancer treatment
In 2018, Fusion Pharmaceuticals was recognized as Ontario’s Life Sciences Company of the Year. John, who graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemistry from McMaster in 1997, received the Brockhouse Canada Prize for Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Engineering from NSERC in 2015.
“It is McMaster’s unique approach and commitment to research excellence that allowed Dr. Valliant to take new paths, investigate uncharted territory and train incredibly talented teams of students – our next generation of leaders,” Associate Vice-President Research Karen Mossman wrote in the Hamilton Spectator.
