Polymer and Colloid Chemistry

We design and study reactive polymers, novel colloids, and microcapsules, to address fundamental and applied questions.

Targets include new approaches to cell encapsulation for immuno-isolation, and polymer capsules for controlled delivery.

Our tools include free radical and controlled radical polymerizations of styrenic and acrylic monomers, and addition polymerization at interfaces.

We use a wide range of techniques to characterize our polymers and materials in terms of composition, morphology and function.
