Our William J. McCallion Planetarium was the first planetarium in Ontario to offer public shows. Shows featuring the planets, stars and universe began in 1950 and continue to this day. In 2008, the newly-refurbished planetarium re-opened with a Digitarium Alpha 2 system - the first digital projector housed in the McCallion Planetarium. A Digitarium Alpha 2 digital system projects images and animations onto the doomed ceiling, mimicking the night sky. You may have the opportunity to attend a planetarium show in an undergraduate science class, such as the Level I astronomy course. Or explore upcoming public shows on the Planetarium’s website.
