All courses for every first-year Science student will be delivered online this fall. A limited number of students in their second, third and fourth years will return to campus for part of the semester.
The outlines below are drafts that were posted early to provide as much information to students as possible in advance of registration and the final outlines will be provided at the start of each course.
I pursued my Ph.D. research under the supervision of Dr. Colin Nurse in the Department of Biology at McMaster. I was ? and still am ? fascinated by how neurons work; how do they sense information, and how to they transmit sensory signals to other cells? My Ph.D. project focused on identifying the mechanisms by which a specialized group of cells near the heart sense and respond to oxygen, carbon dioxide, and acid levels in the blood.
