New Website Offers DIY Physics Experiments
Kari Dalnoki-Veress, Sara Cormier and Adam Fortais have launched a website to share their labour of love.
When the pandemic closed labs on campus, Kari, Sara and Adam created DIY lab kits so more than 100 first-year physics students from around the world could do experiments at home. They've now launched DIY Lab to share manuals and instructional videos for their first five experiments, with plans to add more exercises as they're developed.
“Our goal is to provide physics lab exercises that can be done simply, cheaply and with minimal equipment," Kari, Sara and Adam explain on their website. "You can do this by purchasing a few basic things, or just checking your junk drawer. Doing physics experiments with materials lying around the house can be more effective than fancy equipment.”
