  Major Scholarship Deadlines

Thinking about grad school - either at McMaster or elsewhere? Need funding? Apply for a scholarship!   List of Major Scholarships and Deadlines

This is not an exhaustive list of the major awards and scholarships available to students who are enrolled or intend to undertake graduate studies in Kinesiology at McMaster, but it provides a fair sampling. NOTE: OUR AWARDS LIST CHANGES AS AWARDS BECOME AVAILABLE AND DEADLINES PASS.

All applications are due in Ivor Wynne Centre (IWC), room 219C by the dates and times indicated below. DEPARTMENT deadlines are FIRM. Most applications need to be reviewed by the Departmental Awards Ranking Committee. In order to provide a level playing field for all applicants, no extensions are given.

Please advise Carol Robinson, Graduate Program, of the scholarships for which you will be applying via   crobin@mcmaster.ca.  She is the Department's scholarship liaison officer. Students are responsible to order transcripts, request references and monitor scholarship information via relevant websites from mid-August onward for information, guidelines, application processes, etc. Current graduates should remember to apply for GSA Travel Awards if you are presenting at a conference or are going off site for research development. Applications are made via MOSAIC.

IMPORTANT: All major scholarships have a minimum acceptable average of A minus or 80% for consideration. Before completing an application, please check that your average meets this minimum. Students, if you are unsure of your average, check with Carol Robinson regarding your eligibility. It is particularly important for Level IV year undergraduates to ensure they meet the minimum academic average. You may only apply to ONE of the Tri-Council agencies (NSERC, CIHR, SSHRC) annually, but you may apply for any number of minor scholarships. STUDENTS MAY ONLY HOLD ONE MAJOR SCHOLARSHIP AT A TIME.
