Funding Post-Leave Global Collaborations
Research takes Science faculty around the world. This past year, faculty members started collaborations in Europe (Demark, Germany, France, Ireland, and the United Kingdom), Australia, China and throughout the United States. All of these partnerships were seeded with funding from the Faculty of Science’s new Post Leave Research Support Program.
Launched in 2018, the program aims to support new international research collaborations that begin during research leaves taken by tenure-stream faculty. The program provides up to $3,000 per year for three years after the leave ends. Funds can support the travel and exchange of students and other personnel to continue ongoing work and lead to tangible outcomes such as publications and collaborative grants.
To apply, faculty members are asked to complete a short form as part of the Research Leave Report available on the Faculty’s website. At the end of the funding period, faculty will provide a brief report on their activities and the outcomes of their collaboration. For faculty returning from leave July 1, 2019, reports are due in the Faculty Office by Oct. 31, 2019.
