Convocation countdown with…Charlotte Cabrias

Program: Honours Kinesiology
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Favourite course:
KINESIOL 4D03, Psychophysiology of Healthy, Active Living with Jeremy Walsh. I found the content of this course to be very interesting and really loved Dr. Walsh’s teaching style!
Who are you most thankful to have met at Mac?
I am most thankful to have met my amazing friend and fellow PACE co-worker, Grace Lamont. Grace has been a role model and big sister to me since we met in 2023. She always has the best advice personally, professionally and academically and has consistently shown nothing but kindness, strength and intelligence. I am so lucky to have worked alongside her these last three years and am grateful to have made a friend for life!
Best Mac moment?
Although I’ve been lucky to have multiple “best moments” at Mac, one of my favourites was leading our Kinesiology Rep Team to victory by winning the 2025 Welcome Week Faculty Cup! My co-planner and I worked endlessly all summer with the goal of planning a fun-filled, exciting, and welcoming orientation week for our first-year students. Being awarded the Faculty Cup was an honour and an unforgettable way to kick-off my graduating year in Mac Kin.
Who will you be most proud to show your degree to?
I am definitely most proud to show my degree to my mom, Krista. She has supported me in countless ways over the last four years and has been my biggest cheerleader and best friend. She has been by my side through all of the ups and downs of my undergrad and I am very excited to get to celebrate this achievement with her.
Best piece of advice for students starting in September?
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. In my first year, I applied to so many opportunities that I didn’t think I had a chance of getting and those ended up being my most exciting and rewarding experiences of my undergraduate career. Even if you think the odds are low, apply and go for those things regardless because you never know what could happen!
