Programs for Community Members
Based at the McMaster Physical Activity Centre (PACE), we offer programs to offer specialized exercise and wellness programs in a state-of-the-art, exercise research and training centre. The PACE is devoted to studying and improving health and well-being among older adults and people with chronic disease or disability.
The MacSeniors is an exercise and wellness program, offering a supervised regimen of aerobic and resistance training for individuals 60 to 80 years of age. Personalized programs are designed using our specialized exercise equipment based on the needs and fitness levels of each individual.
MacWheelers is an adapted exercise and wellness program, providing inclusive and accessible opportunities for those living with spinal cord injuries and other neurological impairments to engage in regular community fitness programming.
This program offers safe and appropriate exercise programs for patients with heart disease. Supervised exercise sessions are designed using specialized exercise equipment to meet the individual needs and fitness levels of each patient.
MS FITT is a community-based exercise program for people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Participants are prescribed individual exercise programs that follow the physical activity guidelines for people with MS.
The MacWarriors offer safe exercise and rehab programs for cancer patients. All services are provided by a registered physiotherapist, with years of experience in oncology rehab, and are billable for individuals with extended health insurance coverage.
