 and Baraa Al-Khazraji are among the 10 McMaster researchers to receive $3.4 million in infrastructure funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation.

Dylan and Baraa joined the Department of Kinesiology in 2019, Baraa is exploring blood flow control and vascular physiology in peripheral and cerebral blood vessels while Dylan’s research is focused on making biomechanics and human movement analyses more accessible and real-world relevant.

Baraa received $160,000 in federal funding for cerebrovascular hemodynamics in health and disease while Dylan was awarded $80,000 in federal funding towards an optical and wearable motion capture system for precision medicine solutions in osteoarthritis.   

Nationally, the CFI invested more than $96 million in 377 new research infrastructure projects at 55 institutions.

Evans Leaders Fund helps Canadian universities, institutes and research hospitals create the conditions necessary for their talented researchers to excel.”

John Evans was the founding Dean of McMaster’s medical school and served as the CFI’s first Board Chair.
