Three Faculty Awarded Research Chairs

The Faculty of Science Research Chairs were introduced in 2019 to recognize faculty members for their research efforts and achievements. Nominations are invited from all faculty members. Science Research Chairs receive three years of funding for graduate students and research supplies plus one term of teaching release.
Faculty members nominated 14 colleagues for this year’s Science Research Chairs. Nominations were reviewed by a four-person committee, chaired by the Acting Associate Dean, Research & External Relations Juliet Daniel.
Marie, David and Altaf join Faculty of Science Research Chairs Michael Brook (Chemistry & Chemical Biology), Kari Dalnoki-Veress (Physics & Astronomy), Allison Williams (Earth, Environment & Society), Martin Gibala (Kinesiology), Gillian Goward (Chemistry & Chemical Biology) and Louis Schmidt (Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour).
Three more Faculty of Science Research Chairs will be awarded next year.
